The Discovery Passage Aquarium is starting into its fifth summer season on Saturday, May 13.

Lots of fun activities are awaiting the guests from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.

There will also be a special kick off to the popular “Night at the Aquarium” events from 6:30 until 8 p.m. with tours every 20 minutes (10 guests/tour).

The new bubble tank is the highlight of this coming season. Guests will be able to experience a 360 view from within the new big tank. It allows marine explorers of all ages to crawl underneath it and stick their heads up into a half bubble shaped space. See under the sea!

As in past years the aquarium will be open seven days a week, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. until September.

Campbell River’s hands-on aquarium offers fun and unique educational experiences for people of all ages, showcasing the incredible marine species and habitats in our region.

The displays include local marine life and interactive opportunities allow visitors a unique and up-close look at the diversity of marine life that lives in our coastal waters.

The aquarium was established in 2013, thanks to the help of local businesses, environmental groups, and hard-working volunteers.

The aquarium as well as the nearby Explorer Lab are run by the non-profit Discovery Passage Aquarium Society, with the goal of increasing knowledge of the wonders of our local marine life.
