Comox Valley RCMP recently responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Union Bay Credit Union earlier this week.
Around 1 p.m. on Aug. 30, police responded to the report that a lone man entered the bank brandishing a weapon.
The man, who was approximately six feet tall and thin, had his face disguised. The man demanded money and fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
No one was injured during this incident.
The Comox Valley RCMP Victim Services Unit attended the scene and provided support to those affected.
The robbery is under the investigation by the Comox Valley RCMP General Investigation Section, with the assistance of the Integrated Forensic Identification Section and the Police Dog Service.
“We’re asking that any persons that were in the area of Union Bay between 1 and 3 p.m. and saw any person running away from the area of the credit union to get in touch with us,” stated RCMP plain clothes commander Staff Sgt. Kevin Mazur.
