The District of Sparwood is welcoming a new staff member to their team.
Lyle Hannan will be stepping into the role of director of corporate services with the district. Hannan brings a wealth of experience to the position, as well as an excitement to be returning to the mountains. With over 19 years experience as a senior municipal manager in small to mid sized communities across western Canada, Hannan is sure to become an integral part of the team.
“Lyle will be a great asset to the district,” said Sparwood mayor David Wilks. “We know that he will bring a lot to the table in this important role and look forward to him joining the team and the community.”
Hannan’s experience is broad and has included oversight of recreation, tourism, marketing, protective services, bylaw enforcement, as well as various other corporate services.
Although Hannan is relocating from Saskatchewan, he is no stranger to the Elk Valley. In fact, Hannan used to live in the Crows Nest Pass. According to the District of Sparwood, “he is excited to be back in the mountains and will soon be joined by his partner Stephanie who will also be moving, pending employment in the area.”
Hannan was selected as the preferred candidate in February of 2020 and began his new role on March 30, 2020.
“I have just purchased a new place and am looking forward to calling Sparwood home,” said Hannan. “I am excited to meet and work with the team and to identify corporate service priorities that can make a tangible and positive impact on the organization and the community.”
