My personal experience for this year has been great.

Coming into the team a bit late, I was worried about what some of the guys were going to think about me. But, soon after, they made me feel welcome and helped me get settled into a new family.

As the season went on, helping out in the community has kept me from being bored throughout the day.

The team has had a lot of ups and downs this season, including big comeback wins and the way we battle through the adversity that the hockey gods have thrown at us. On the flip side, we have had some rough days where we struggle to get crucial points, but the way we’ve been able to bounce back during the week has been something to remember this year.

This team is made up of a roster with rookies new to the league and the three veterans that we have really taken a role on this team to show the young guys the ropes, and show day in and day out what it takes to be successful in the KIJHL, even after the last few seasons the Golden Rockets have had. We have been able to rebuild this team into a winning team that has hopes of going far in the playoff run, and the boys won’t give up until the last buzzer goes no matter what the game throws at us.
