Don’t miss the second cash mob happening today!
The Penticton & Wine Country Chamber of Commerce has launched the new initiative to support local businesses and boost sales and recognition. Rather than a flash mob that has a group of people singing and dancing, a cash mob has a group of people spending a minimum of $20 each at a selected business for the period of one hour.
The business that will be hosting the second cash mob on Nov. 7 will be announced at 3:45 p.m. when the mob gathers at the Penticton Curling Club main doors. The chamber rationalizes the event stating “imagine if each business had 15 mobbers with $20 purchases,” that would equal $300 in just one hour and if the event is repeated once a month for a year, that’s $3,600 spent supporting local.
