When the Economic Development Advisory Committee invited Barb Haynes (Penticton Business Improvement Association) to Grand Forks in August to speak about the benefits of having an organized downtown business organization, it sparked enthusiasm and renewed energy from several downtown merchants.

With the help of the Boundary Country Regional Chamber of Commerce, dialogue has begun to address the need for a downtown business association in Grand Forks and a defined area has been established.

A meeting will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 13 from 7 until 9 p.m. at the Community Futures Boundary Grand Forks office (1647 Central Avenue) and all business owners and managers within the defined downtown area (see map) are invited to discuss their visions and ideas on building a stronger and more vibrant downtown core.

If you run a business within the defined area, your input is important. Please mark your calendar and plan to attend.
