Driver hurt in car crash in Cedar

A Honda Civic and a Ford truck with a camper collided Tuesday at Cedar, Harmac and Raines roads

One person was injured in a car crash in Cedar tonight.

A Honda Civic and a full-size Ford pickup truck with a camper collided Tuesday at 8 p.m. at the intersection of Cedar, Harmac and Raines roads.

The driver of the Civic was taken to Nanaimo Regional General Hospital with unknown injuries, the car was wrecked and traffic was reduced to alternating lanes. The truck was also damaged in the crash.

Emergency services personnel at the scene said the pickup truck was travelling straight through the intersection onto Harmac Road and the car was turning left down Cedar Road onto the bridge when the accident happened.

B.C. Ambulance Service, North Cedar Fire Department and Nanaimo RCMP were on scene.
