Driver taken to hospital after car crashes with delivery truck, hits utility pole

Accident happened at 12:45 p.m. on Nanaimo's Boxwood Road on Tuesday

A motorist was taken to hospital after reportedly driving on the wrong side of the road, crashing into a delivery truck and then hitting a utility pole.

Emergency crews were called to Boxwood Road close to the intersection with Northfield Road at 12:45 p.m. Tuesday.

Witnesses said the BMW was driving on the wrong side of the road before it collided with the truck, kept going and hit the pole.

Firefighters on scene said the driver was transported to hospital with unknown injuries.
