Moving into summer, drivers in Parksville Qualicum Beach can expect to see more and more road crew workers.
Mainroad Mid-Island Contracting issued a release on June 2, that asks drivers to ‘slow down and move over’ when approaching roadside workers and vehicles stopped on the road.

“Roadside work is a hazardous job,” read the release. “Bridge washing, sweeping, replacing culverts, shoulder repairs, paving and mowing operations are some of Mainroad’s spring and summer maintenance activities. This means drivers can expect to see crews working on the side of the road.”
Mainroad Mid-Island Contracting schedules as much work as possible around peak traffic periods in its service area. Road conditions and scheduled events can be seen at www.drivebc.ca.
