Drivers, you might want to watch out for “Po-Leisa” when you’re on the road.
Po-Leisa can’t write traffic tickets, but she’s among the strategies being used by the Abbotsford Police Department (APD) to get drivers to slow down.
She’s actually a cardboard cutout of traffic enforcement officer Const. Leisa Shea, and is part of the APD’s “three-strike program.”
The first strike is ignoring a speed limit sign.
The second strike is ignoring either Po-Leisa or speed-radar equipment and flashing reader boards set up by Speed Watch volunteers.
Drivers who still have not slowed down then “Meet AbbyPD officers in person” and receive a ticket, the APD says on social media.
