Smithers RCMP arrested a local man following an investigation of drug trafficking.
The man — who is known to police — is scheduled to appear in Provincial Court in Smithers Thursday.
A search warrant was executed on Wednesday, Dec. 6. Police seized cocaine crystal meth crack and heroin. Police also seized two imitation handguns and other weapons including a prohibited weapon, and cash.
“continued targeting of illicit drug trafficking and weapons possession remain a detachment priority,” said Smithers detachment commander Staff Sgt. Rob Mitchell in a press release.
The unnamed man is expected to face charges stemming from a previous similar offence, according to the release.
