At 7:29 a.m. Monday, firefighters responded to a fire in the kitchen at a residence in the 300 block of Thulin St.
“When firefighters arrived they found smoke throughout the main floor and a small fire in the kitchen behind the range. The fire was extinguished, and damage from the flames was confined to the area behind the stove,” says deputy fire chief Thomas Doherty.
Fire investigators and the electrical inspector were on scene later that morning to determine the cause of the fire, which was deemed to be electrical in nature. No injuries were reported and damage estimate is yet to be determined.
