Early Sunday crash kills two in Surrey

Five victims in three-vehicle collision early Sunday at 88 Avenue and 152 Street.

Two people are dead and three are injured following a serious collision in Surrey early Sunday morning.

At about 12:30 a.m., Surrey RCMP received several 911 calls about a crash at 88 Avenue and 152 Street involving several vehicles.

The initial investigation determined that a Toyota 4-Runner was heading westbound on 88 Avenue and turning left, southbound, onto 152 Street, when it was struck by an eastbound Hyundai on the passenger side of the SUV.

After hitting the 4-Runner, the Hyundai then struck a third car traveling westbound on 88 Avenue.

One person was dead at the scene and four were taken to hospital where one succumbed to their injuries.

As of 8:30 a.m. Sunday, one crash victim was in critical condition in hospital and two were in stable condition.

The intersection opened in the late morning, and the investigation continues.
