Eastside Road was re-opened about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday after a geotechnical assessment and necessary repairs were carried out according to the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure.
Ministry staff had closed the road and a detour put in place on McLean Creek Road after a boater on Skaha Lake on Sunday noticed a failure beneath the road surface and contacted the Regional District of Okanagan Similkameen.
The detour allowed residents to safely access their homes during the closure.
While the road is once again in use, the opening time trial of the seventh annual Hayman Classic youth bicycle race will remain in the new location organizers had quickly arranged after the closure first happened.
