An elderly woman died after being hit by a truck in a parking lot in West Kelowna.
Kelowna RCMP and BC Coroners service and still investigating the incident that took place Saturday morning after 11 a.m.
Emergency crews were called to the scene of a pedestrian involved collision, which occurred on a laneway in the parking lot of a business complex located in the 2300 block of Highway 97 in West Kelowna. Police can confirm that the operator of a black Ford F150 pickup truck collided with a pedestrian while executing a left hand turn in the parking lot.
The pedestrian, an 83 year-old West Kelowna woman, sustained severe injuries.

“Tragically she was pronounced deceased by emergency first responders at the scene,” said Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey.
The driver, a 34 year-old West Kelowna man, who was emotionally impacted by the incident, remained at the scene and fully cooperated with the investigation.

The investigation, now being led by the BC Coroners Service, is continuing at this time. Investigators will rely on witness accounts, nearby video surveillance and of course the detailed report of the RCMP collision analyst amd reconstructionist who attended and examined the scene.
