Election reform committee here on Aug. 19

Non-partisan EDA group will answers questions, provide information

The Kamloops-Thompson-Cariboo Election Reform Committee will be at the South Cariboo Farmers’ Market in 100 Mile House on Aug. 19 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The purpose is to provide information to 100 Mile House and area voters on proposed changes to Canada’s election laws.

A federal committee is looking into changing the voting system currently in use. It appears fewer Canadians are happy with First Past The Post voting.

The non-partisan Electoral District Association (EDA) committee will answer questions and provide information which could help voters decide on a future system.

The members are seeking out voter input to assist Kamloops-Thompson-Cariboo MP Cathy McLeod in consulting as many of our voters as possible.
