Voters have a chance to make their voices heard on how they want their votes to count in the next federal election by taking part in a tele-town hall Monday night.
Skeena-Bulkley Valley MP and democratic reform committee member Nathan Cullen is hosting the call-in conference. Recommendations from the committee are due Dec. 1.
Residents can join the phone-in conference at 7 p.m. by calling 1-877-229-8493 with ID code 112621.
Other topics covered in a recent Smithers town hall included lowering the voting age and electronic voting.
“Whether we got to war or not rests on how we vote; whether we have good environmental legislation or bad; whether we have a good economy or bad one in terms of the government rests on how we vote. It’s a big factor,” summed up Cullen at the Smithers meeting.
