There’s a bumper crop of visitors on the West Coast so far this spring, and new attractions and activities to entertain both visitor and resident.
Those who are looking for a wheeled way to get around but not sure about pedalling up the West Coast hills. There’s a new power boost available, and if you’ve ever wanted to test out an electric bicycle, you can rent one for an hour or a day at SubTidal Adventures/Gray Whale Deli in Ucluelet, where they feature the street-friendly classic Comfort Cruiser or the beachable Trail Tracker models.
Test rides will be given in Ucluelet on Thursday, May 21 from noon-4 p.m.
“You can pedal or not – it’s up to you,†said Julie Edwards, who owns Pedego Qualicum Beach with Ruby Berry.
PedegoQB sells the bikes as well as renting them. Island communities are perfect places for electric bikes because of the many dedicated trails, beautiful scenery and hilly terrain. Edwards said.
“We guarantee you’re going to have a lot of fun,†she said.
