The Vanderhoof Fish and Game Club hosted the 11th annual ‘Fishing Forever’ event for disabled residents last Father’s Day weekend.
June 18 saw 20 clients from Nechako Valley Community Services make the trip out to Finger Lake Wilderness Resort for a day spent in the great outdoors.
While the weather was overcast, the rain stayed off and within a couple of hours out on the boats, over 50 fish had been caught.
After a morning spent fishing, a barbeque was held with food donated by the Co-op. A great day was had by all.
‘Fishing Forever’ is a province-wide event which first came into existence in 1989 thanks to an idea from a broadcast journalist named Walt Liimatainen.
