On September 4, Angel Flight East Kootenay (EK) accepted a donation of $2834.51 from the Elkford Firefighters Association.

The Firefighters Association recently entered a car in the Fernie Demolition Derby thanks to the support of 34 local sponsors. With excess funds left over, the association decided to donate to a local charity. They chose Angel Flight EK to be their recipients.

Angel Flight EK is a volunteer run charity providing free air transportation to residents of the East Kootenay to medical appointments in Kelowna.

Since their inaugural flight in July of this year, Angel Flight EK has completed five round trips. These funds donated will pay for an additional three round trips for medical patients.
