The big day has finally arrived for Penticton’s newest restaurant.

Elma, located at 994 Lakeshore Dr., opened its doors for a soft opening on Aug. 15 after more than a year of construction. The Turkish cuisine restaurant has limited seating available for the event, which begins at 3 p.m.

“Our big, bright space features tiles, lighting and other decor sourced in our native Turkey and also helps to highlight the scenic backdrop around us,” states the post. “The menu, developed by our culinary team, features traditional Turkish food that is infused with local ingredients to give it a distinct Okanagan feel and flavour, making our guests feel right athome while dining with us. The beverage program was also developed to showcase local beer, wine and spirits.”

Once they are fully open, Elma will operate Sunday through Thursday from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. according to its website. For more information about the restaurant, its menu or hours, visit www.eatatelma.com.
