Enderby’s new and improved spray park is taking shape.
Construction is currently underway on the new amenity in Barnes Park.
“Crews are still playing in the dirt right now, and the real excitement will be when the pad gets poured and the play features get connected,” said Tate Bengtson, the city’s chief administrative officer.
“Thursday or Friday is the anticipated opening date. It should be just in time for the weekend.”
In June, the Enderby and District Services Commission awarded a $155,649 contract for designing and building the Barnes Park spray park.
The old spray park was decommissioned in 2011 because of a number of safety concerns.
Since then, there has been community fundraising to reopen the park while the commission has budgeted funds — $264,000 for phase one in 2017.
