A Kelowna woman, 41, is facing potential impaired driving charges after an alleged wild ride around the city, that left a series of parked cars dented and her own truck deep in a ditch.
Mounties received a report of a vehicle squealing around a corner on its rim, and landing in the ditch on Valley Road at Kane Road, July 15 at 2:30 a.m.
“Upon attendance the police found a red Dodge Durango on its side with a single, unharmed occupant,” said Const. Kris Clark.
“The driver was identified to be the owner, a 41 year old woman from Kelowna,” said Const. Kris Clark. “The woman exhibited symptoms of alcohol impairment, failing a roadside test, and was brought back to the Kelowna Detachment where she provided breath samples over the legal limit.”
Further reports indicated that a vehicle of the same description had hit at least three parked vehicles along Bernard Avenue. The investigation is ongoing to determine if further charges may be recommended.
The woman currently faces potential charges of impaired driving and was released on a Promise to Appear for Court in October.
