The Quesnel Fire Centre’s only evacuation alert was lifted on Friday, July 23.
Residents living in the Titetown and Nazko North evacuation areas can relax. They were put under the alert due to the Purdy Lake Wildfire. The Cariboo Fire Centre has noted the 8,000 hectare fire has not grown in the past few days.
“Crews are patrolling and extinguishing hot spots along the southern flank of the fire,” an update from the Cariboo Fire Centre reads. “BCWS has made a recommendation to reduce the Evacuation Alert area to the Cariboo Regional District. BC Parks have been engaged regarding suppression in the Kluskoil park.”
