Thousands of enthusiastic people lined 27th Street and downtown roads for the annual Vernon Winter Carnival parade Saturday.
“We had 106 entries,” said Brittany Sjoblom, Winter Carnival executive director, of the floats, bands, vintage cars, clowns and others on display.
While many popular entries made a return, there were also a large number of new entries.
“There were some great floats and we looked forward to seeing them,” said Sjoblom.
The Carnival agenda Sunday includes the kids truck rodeo at the Anderson Way Kal Tire from noon to 2 p.m., the B.C. Snow Sculpture awards ceremony at Silver Star at 11 a.m. and the Kids Karnival at the Boys and Girls Club from noon to 4 p.m.
Vernon Winter Carnival continues until Feb. 12.
The carnival events also included the popular Hot Air Balloon Glow Friday night (see attached video).
