Expect to see smoke rising from Old Tom Creek fire

Residents near Keremeos may see smoke within the perimeter of the fire

BC Wildfire crews are mopping up along the control lines of the Old Tom Creek blaze, about 7 kilometres west of Olalla.

The fire is still listed as out of control, as ground crews, heavy equipment and helicopters create containment lines or tie into natural lines, roads and hand guards.

Residents in the area can expect to see smoke within the perimeter over the coming weeks.

Winds are expected to pick up Wednesday afternoon, which may lead to some spread of flames in slash and grass fuel areas.

The blaze remains at 1,025 hectares, with 149 personnel and three pieces of equipment are on site.
