Deb McDougall was looking for a volunteer painting crew the week of July 17 to help paint over a large amount of graffiti sprayed on the Heffley Creek Hall, and to also do some minor repairs after vandals hit the building.

“Someone(s) thinks the Heffley Creek Hall is a dumping ground, and a place for vandalism,” posted McDougall July 17 on Facebook.

“They even tried to pry their way into the Heffley Creek Hall. We are a non-profit charity that maintains the hall 100 per cent by fundraising. Now we have to pay to get the garbage taken away, fix the doors and repaint the back. I am very disappointed and disgusted.”

McDougall went on to say that a few volunteers give up their time to put on fun events at the hall for the community “and this is how we are treated!”.

She asks that anyone who is driving by the building to please keep their eyes open for strange behavior and to notify someone if they see something suspicious.

Please contact the RCMP, or call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477(TIPS).
