The family of a teen whose body was found in a torched SUV in South Surrey in August 2017 are to make an appeal to the public this morning at RCMP headquarters.
According to a news release issued just before 7:30 a.m. Wednesday by the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team, Bhavkiran’s family will make their appeal at 10 a.m.
The appeal follows one issued in the case in late October, when IHIT investigators asked for “any friends and acquaintances that knew Miss Dhesi” to come forward.

To date, there have been no arrests of charges in connection with Dhesi’s death, today’s release states.
The 19-year-old’s body was found on Aug. 2, 2017, after police responded to a report of a vehicle fire in the 18700-block of 24 Avenue.
Dhesi was last seen leaving the family home, with the family car, at 9 p.m. on Aug. 1. The burning SUV was discovered just a few hours later, at 12:20 a.m. Aug. 2.
While Dhesi was not known to police, investigators have said they do not believe her death was a random act.
A news release issued by IHIT the day after her body was identified noted the investigation also “indicates that her death was not related to gang activity.”
