The Qualicum Beach Farmer’s Market will now supply food to residents all year round.
The market will continue to have outdoor vendors on Veterans Way during the fall— 12 of them on average—, and the usual 24 vendors inside the Qualicum Community Centre. And sales will continue on throughout the winter.
“So many of our vendors have indoor greenhouses we’re hoping to have produce year round,” said market manager Mini Shewchuk.
On Saturday there was a variety of produce to buy from fresh lettuces to peppers, onions, mushrooms, tomatoes and squash, plus jams and jellies, coffee and tea, baked goods, flowers, pasta, oats and grains, eggs, meats and much more.
The Farmer’s Market will take a break from December 21 to January 18, when vendors will resume sales of their local products.
