100 MILE A FINALIST
The new RCMP Detachment building in 100 Mile House was among the 23 finalists for the 2016 Northern BC Commercial Building Awards.
The award program recognizes the top buildings constructed from Fort. St. John and Dawson Creek to Prince Rupert and from Prince George to 100 Mile House.
While the 100 Mile House RCMP Detachment didn’t win the competition, RCMP Staff/Sgt. Blake Ward says they did receive a plaque.
NDP TRAINING FOR ELECTION
Five hundred New Democrat campaigners from across British Columbia were gathered in Kamloops last weekend to hone their skills and build momentum to defeat the Christy Clark B.C. Liberal government in the May 2017 provincial election. BC New Democrat Leader John Horgan says the stakes are high for British Columbians. “People and families are finding it very hard to afford the high cost of living in Christy Clark’s B.C,. and that crisis of affordability and opportunity is making the choice very clear. “I believe that if you work hard, you should be able to afford a reasonable place to live and raise a family with real opportunities for success. “The BC New Democrats are working for affordability, equality and fairness for all. We may be the underdogs when it comes to big-money campaigning, but we’re very hard workers and the stakes couldn’t be higher for people in B.C. The next election is about putting people and families first, and we’re getting ready to win. ”
