Female medevaced to hospital after vehicle loses control north of Williams Lake

Female in hospital with serious non-life threatening injuries after a motor vehicle incident on Highway 97 north of Williams Lake Saturday.

A female is recovering in Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops from serious non-life threatening injuries after a motor vehicle incident (MVI) on Highway 97 north of Williams Lake Saturday.

Around 7:15 a.m on May 10, the RCMP responded to an MVI where a northbound pick-up truck lost control, left the highway and came to rest down an embankment, the RCMP said in a press release Monday.

The driver was in the process of making a right hand merge from the highway onto Mountain House Road.

Six occupants were in the pickup truck at the time. Five of them received minor injuries, however, a female needed to be medevaced.

Police said alcohol and drugs were not a factor, although they are investigating potential offences under the motor vehicle act.
