It all started with a crafting project and ended with 10 year-old Kiana Casanova fulfilling over 50 Christmas wishes for the Gateway Shelter.
Kiana Casanova loves to make things so she sold handmade candles at the Lavington Christmas Bazaar.
Afterwards she decided she didn’t really need the money she made from the candles so she chose to give to the Gateway Shelter’s homeless wish list.
With a grin on her face she pulls bag after bag of gifts out of her mom’s van and into the arms of Amanda Bailey, the shelter’s Christmas wish list organizer.
“My mom posted it on Facebook that I was looking for items that I could buy or have donated,” said Casanova.
She has been all over town with the help of her family purchasing new items, and picking up donations. She even broke her finger in the parking lot of Walmart after slamming it in the car door on one of her shopping trips.
“I am blessed with friends and family and it feels good to give to people that are less fortunate,” said Casanova.
“She is an amazing little lady sprinkling her kindness everywhere,” said Bailey.
“It is incredible for someone so young. It’s inspiring and beautiful.”
