The Red Apple store in the Cariboo Mall Plaza is hosting a ‘Fill a Sleigh Day’ on Dec, 8.
“Last year, our generous customers went above and beyond to ensure children in their community experienced the joy of the Christmas season. This year, we are hoping for an even bigger day. There is nothing better than seeing the community come together and bring smiles to children’s faces and surprising them with a special toy for Christmas,” said Clinton Wolff, president and CEO of Red Apple, in a media release.
Fill a Sleigh Day is part of the Company’s annual Together We Care Toy Drive. This is the second year the location in 100 Mile House will be involved.
Santa will be at the Red Apple from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The local fire department will also be there barbecuing. Ten per cent of each toy sale will also go into the drive.
According to Kari Wall, one of the managers at Red Apple, they received $1,583 last year.
“Our goal for the whole toy drive this year is $4,000. We are already at $2,000,” said Wall about this year’s target.
