Three-alarm blaze sends two workers to hospital.

Fire ripped through a North Delta sawmill today, injuring two workers at the industrial site.

As of 8 a.m. Thursday, fire crews had contained the blaze at 10104 River Rd., but continued extinguishing hot spots throughout the area.

The facility was in operation at the time of the fire and two workers were taken to the hospital after suffering smoke inhalation.

The three-alarm blaze required 30 firefighters and five fire trucks.

River Road between Nordel Way and Centre Street remained closed to traffic most of the morning Thursday.
