A report to police about a “disturbance” at a house on Patterson Road Monday led to the arrest of two and the seizure of a number of firearms and an undisclosed quantity of drugs.
“The investigation is still in the early stages and no charges have yet been laid, Staff Sergeant Suki Manj, commander of the Chilliwack RCMP plainclothes unit, said in a news release.
Upon arrival at the house in the 7600-block Patterson Road, police saw a male running away, but the 42-year-old was soon located with the help of a police dog and arrested.
A 39-year-old female inside the house was also arrested.
A search warrant was executed and the firearms and drugs were seized.
Police said the occupants and the residence located near the Marble Hill area in east Chilliwack are known to them.
An investigation by the Chilliwack RCMP serious crime unit and crime reduction unit continues.
