Big smiles filled the faces of four directors of the Kitimat General Hospital Foundation (KGHF) as Kitimat firefighters presented the foundation with a $4,000 cheque.
Brad Bemis and Sam Froom presented the cheque to the foundation on behalf of the Kitimat Firefighters Association on October 25.
The firefighters have donated funds to a variety of Kitimat’s community groups and non-profit societies in the past,and KGHF was pleased to be included as a beneficiary of their dedication and hard work.
The Kitimat Firefighters Association raised the money by managing the bar at Kitimat’s Canada Day Celebrations, by putting on the firefighters’ popular Brewfest and by holding a raffle.
They have ambitious plans to expand their charitable fundraising abilities in the near future.
“Kitimat is extremely fortunate to have such an enthusiastic, energetic and dedicated group working to raise funds to help make Kitimat a wonderful place to live,” said KGHF president Margaret Sanou.
