Firefighters called to out-of-control campfire in Nanaimo park

Nanaimo Fire Rescue crews extinguished fire in Beaufort Park this afternoon

Firefighters extinguished a campfire that had gotten out of control at a Nanaimo park this afternoon.

Nanaimo Fire Rescue crews were called to Beaufort Park at about 3:20 p.m. on Friday to put out the fire, which had spread to nearby trees.

Campfires are not permitted in city parks.
