Mission Fire Rescue Service and Mission RCMP are on scene at the Diamond Head Motor Inn on Logan Ave. in Mission, across from the old Safeway building.

A call came in at about 3:15 p.m. Thursday (Jan. 31) reporting smoke seen coming from the building.

“It came as just smoke, when we got called. It got upgraded too more than a little bit of smoke in one of the units there,” explained Mission fire chief Dale Unrau.

While the smoke was heavy, there was no fire to deal with. Unrau said it appears that it was just some food burned in the kitchen.

Fire crews are still on hand to push the smoke out of the building.
