If you see a firefighter standing outside a store with his or her hat in hand this weekend, please consider giving generously.
Firefighters from Port Alberni, Cherry Creek, Beaver Creek and Sproat Lake departments will be fundraising for their annual Fight Muscular Dystrophy campaign, which started at 5 p.m. on Friday, April 29 and continues throughout the day on Saturday, April 30, 2016. Firefighters will be at Quality Foods, Save-On-Foods, Shoppers Drug Mart, the BC Liquor Store, Buy-Low Foods, Walmart, Tyler’s No Frills and the Liquor Depot.
Firefighters are Muscular Dystrophy Canada’s largest network of supporters, with more than 800 departments holding “fill the boot” drives across the country.
Muscular dystrophy is a neuromuscular disorder; Muscular Dystrophy Canada supports people affected by more than 150 different neuromuscular disorders.
