FireSmart clean-up and chipping event planned for West Bench

Event on Oct. 17 to help reduce risk of wildfire damage

The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen is hosting a community FireSmart clean-up and chipping event at West Bench Elementary School on Saturday, Oct. 17. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

It is open to those removing flammable debris from their properties.

Changes made to the areas closest to one’s home will have the greatest impact on reducing the risk of wildfire damage. Being FireSmart is a shared responsibility.
