Charlotte Charles is a five-year-old girl with a soft spot for mini donuts – and giving.
With Abbotsford’s Agrifair offering a mini-donut drive through, Charlotte visited with her family and took a special liking to the treats of Tin Lizzy, one of four different food trucks offering the fair staple.
But when she heard that this year was particularly hard on food-truck operators like Tin Lizzy’s Jason Au, Charlotte decided to ante up a $20 donation from her own piggy bank. She delivered the gift and a card Thursday after being gifted a special VIP pass by Agrifair operators.
Agrifair will be hosting a special mini-donut drivethrough Friday, Saturday and Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Charlotte is no stranger to giving. When she was about to turn five, she asked her mother if all children get the same toys. When told that some families can’t afford gifts for their children, Charlotte decided that instead of asking for gifts, she would encourage her friends and families to make donations to Toys for Tots.
“She’s a giving little girl,” her mother Julie said. “She just wants to take care of whoever she can.”
