Foundation supports Canada’s 150th Celebration in Barriere on July 1st

Grant funds for ‘Celebration of Canada’s first 150 Years’ being held at the fall fairgrounds in Barriere

North Thompson Communities Foundation representative Cheryl Thomas (r) is shown presenting North Thompson Fall Fair and Rodeo Association president Jill Hayward with a cheque for $3000 last Tuesday.  The funds will be used towards the ‘Celebration of Canada’s first 150 Years’ being held at the fall fairgrounds in Barriere on July 1.  Hayward stated, “We are thrilled to receive this 150 grant to help us in presenting a memorable, fun, and family oriented July 1st celebration for Canada’s birthday.  Thank you so much to the valley’s very own community foundation, and to the Community Fund for Canada’s 150th.”    The Community Fund for Canada’s 150th is a collaborative effort, seeded by the Government of Canada and extraordinary leaders from coast to coast to coast, and matched and delivered locally by Canada’s 191 community foundations, including the North Thompson Communities Foundation.
