A Fraser Valley resident is facing first-degree murder charges in connection with an 11-year-old targeted shooting in Edmonton 11 years ago.
Theodore (“Ted”) Gordon Allard, 44, was recently found to be residing in the Fraser Valley and was arrested on July 31.
A source suggested Allard was arrested in Chilliwack but this has not yet been confirmed, nor has the precise location of where he was living.
The case dates back to July 2, 2008 when Edmonton Police Service (EPS) Homicide Section detectives investigated a shooting in northeast Edmonton at 9:54 p.m. that day.
“It was reported to police that a female driver dropped off two men in their 20s at a north-side clinic, after they were shot while sitting in their vehicle in the area of 167 Avenue and 18 Street, just west of the Evergreen Trailer Park,” the EPS said in a press release.
Scott Ladouceur, 24 at the time, was shot while sitting in a parked vehicle near the trailer park. A second male, Marlon Williams, 22, was also shot multiple times sitting in the back seat. The female driver was able to avoid being shot, EPS reported, and she fled the scene.
At some point. after the shooting, the woman drove Ladouceur and Williams to a nearby medical centre. Ladouceur was pronounced dead, Williams survived.
EPS say the shooting was believed to be drug related and it represented the city’s 14th homicide in 2008.
Allard was the primary suspect, found in the Fraser Valley in recent weeks.
Allard, who was 33 years old at the time of the shooting, was brought back to Edmonton on July 31, where he remains in custody charged with first degree murder and attempted murder.
EPS said no further information is being released at this time, as the case in now before the courts.
Allard is next due in court Aug. 9.
