Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the Trans-Canada Highway between Eagle Pass and Rogers Pass. It says there is a risk of freezing rain over the highway passes.

“A warm front will move across the southern Interior today. Precipitation over the highway passes will start as snow and change to rain late in the day as the freezing levels rise. This warm front will also bring the risk of freezing rain today and this evening, which could result in icy road conditions,” the report says. “Weather in the mountains can change suddenly resulting in hazardous driving conditions.”

Up-to-date road conditions are available at drivebc.ca.
