Funds available for Hope non-profits hit by COVID-19

District of Hope extends application date for restart funding program worth $200,000

An extension has been given for non-profits to apply for a little financial help from the District of Hope.

The District of Hope introduced a special COVID-19 Restart Grant in Aid program earlier in the year. The deadline to apply has been extended to July 30 at 4 p.m.

The program is designed to assist those non-profit organizations that have faced financial hardship due to the impacts of COVID-19, and there is $200,000 available in total. A special application form is available at the District Office and on the district website.

The key component in the application is to provide financial information to council on the impact of lost revenue from 2019 over that of 2020 due to the implications of COVID-19.

The application includes guidelines including who is eligible for the funding.

The program is open to District of Hope and area registered non-profits that have programs, activities and event that strengthen and enhance the well being of the community, and also promote volunteerism.

Funds are only available whereby proof is provided that the non-profit agency or society experienced revenue losses due to COVID-19.
