A yard fire this afternoon on Delta Street in the Burnside neighbourhood is not being treated as criminally suspicious by VicPD.

Victoria firefighters arrived on the scene at 459 Delta St. shortly after 2 p.m. on Thursday and extinguished the flames. Furniture and other items lay piled in the yard and what appeared to be an upside down couch was engulfed in flames at one point.

“I thought my house was on fire, so I ran back with my dog,” said Kelly Favro, who lives on the street. “My whole house smells like burning plastic and wood right now.”
