A fire broke out on Monday morning in a three-car garage at a home on McCallum Road, south of Huntingdon Road.
The fire started around 8 a.m. and caused damage to the top floor of the garage, burning through the roof.
Abbotsford police and fire rescue services responded to the incident.
Assistant fire chief Jeff Adams said firefighters did a good job of managing the flames and stopping the spread of the fire, but damage to the top of the building was still extensive.
“The whole upper floor is gone… the lower part of the shop seems to be pretty good.”
Adams said it appears the owners are out of town and as far as firefighters knew, there was no one present at the time of the fire.
