Truckers can now enjoy free showers, washrooms and even a free meal while on the road thanks to one fuel company.
All Chevron cardlock sites are open with free showers and washrooms available to help support essential service truckers during the COVID-19 pandemic.
There are more than 35 sites in Western Canada, and on Thursday, April 23, complimentary meals will be handed out at four of them: Chilliwack, Kamloops West, Prince George and Kelowna.
It’s all in partnership with the British Columbia Trucking Association’s Meals for Truckers program, where food trucks are available onsite at those four locations.
Netherlands-inspired food truck ‘Dutchlicious’ has been set up at the Chevron Chilliwack cardlock for more than two weeks. Truckers can grab a free meal there from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on April 23 by showing their commercial driver’s licence upon order at 44025 Yale Road West.
“We are proud to support drivers and the trucking industry, an essential service in these dynamic times. We’re grateful for the trip you are making every day and want to show our appreciation,” said Donna Sanker, president of Parkland Fuel Corporation Canada.
Recently, Chevron was also offering discounts on gas to all hospital and emergency service workers.
