Get your calendars out: All candidates meetings set for district, school board

Meetings a chance to hear from mayoral, councillor and trustee candidates ahead of Oct. 20 election

Local election season is well underway, and residents of Hope who want to hear what their candidates for local office want to say can plan to attend several all candidates meetings over the next few weeks.

An all candidates meeting of District of Hope councillors is set for Wednesday, Oct. 3 at 7 p.m. at the Hope Recreation Centre. The following night, Thursday, Oct. 4 all mayoral candidates will meet at the rec centre.

If residents have questions for the candidates, they can email them in advance of the meeting to DOHACM2018@hotmail.com.

Candidates running for Fraser-Cascade School Board trustee positions will meet the following weeks.

Candidates running for the three Hope area trustee positions will meet Wednesday, Oct. 10 from 6:30 p.m. at Hope Secondary School. Agassiz-Harrison candidates will meet Monday, Oct. 15 at 6:30 p.m. at Agassiz Elementary Secondary School. Both meetings start with a meet-and-greet, followed by the main event at 7 p.m.

Questions for trustee candidates can be submitted in advance to dpac@sd78.bc.ca.

Elections for the school board and the district will be held Oct. 20.
