Northern Health said with the 2015 Canada Winter Games approaching (Feb. 13 – March 1) the focus was on creating excitement across the north to help improve the health and well-being of those “living, working, learning and playing in their respective communities.”
“The upcoming 2015 Canada Winter Games will provide a chance to cheer on athletes as well as to be inspired to live more active and healthier lifestyles,” Health Minister Terry Lake said.
“The Legacy Grants reflect a commitment to supporting the long term health of British Columbians and will help communities build on the spirit of the games as they work to achieve the goal of healthy populations.”
The grants are designed to foster a “sustainable legacy” for community-based projects through a variety of partnerships.
